Who are we?

Patsy Brooks-Tallant, MPS Meritus

Patsy began her pet styling career in 1978, when her family was showing Miniature Poodles, Boston Terriers and Keeshonds. She started grooming in the show ring while she was in high school, which continued into college. After finishing college, she worked in various parts of the industry, including veterinary clinics, small and corporate grooming salons - even having the number one corporate grooming salon in the country. In 1995 she decided to open her very own grooming salon, which evolved into two salons. In 2012 she sold one of the locations, as to fulfill a longtime dream of opening a mobile grooming salon, Shear Luxury Mobile Pet Spa, by 2013. In 2015, she added a second mobile grooming unit - to better expand and service more clients. In the beginning of 2017, Patsy decided to concentrate on the mobile grooming industry and sold her stationary salon. Patsy is a longtime speaker of the U.S. Pet Pro Classic, in Dallas, TX, a staunch advocate for continuing education, and has also taught classes at Mardi Paws and Groom Wars. Patsy is a lifetime member of the International Society of Canine Cosmetologists (ISCC), and accomplished multi-award winning pet stylist. Patsy is married to her high school sweetheart, David. They have three kids - Kristina, Stephen, and Brianne - with six grandchildren. Kristina and Stephen share Patsy's love of grooming, and are pet stylist's themselves.

Kristina Cole

Kristina is Patsy's eldest daughter, and longtime resident within the industry. Kristina was young when Patsy opened her own location, and spent many years in the salon. From the moment she could lift a dog, she wanted to help bathe and dry the dogs. After gaining that skill, Kristina took interest in the grooming aspect of the industry, and by 2004 had officially started her career as a pet stylist. Kristina is the last person to win the lifetime membership of the International Society of Canine Cosmetologists (ISCC), and regular attendee at the U.S. Pet Pro Classic, in Dallas, TX. In November 2015, Kristina won her first awards for Creative Grooming at the U.S. Pet Pro Classic - in which she decorated her dog to the theme of The Wizard of Oz. She took home First Place, Best Color, Best Scissor Work, and People's Choice. In 2016, Kristina joined forces with her mom to run Shear Luxury Mobile Pet Spa's second mobile unit - to better expand and service more clients in the Amarillo area. Kristina married her husband, Ricky, in 2006. They have one son together, Maddox - who also shares his love of grooming (and animals) with his mother - and Nana - and regularly asks if he can "help groom the dogs".
